Rybka was commissioned by the Big Lottery Fund (BLF) to advise on their Sustainability Policy. The scope involved undertaking a series of retrospective BREEAM ‘New Construction’ and ‘In Use’ assessments on existing buildings funded by the organisation. The purpose of the study was to advise the funding body on the most appropriate tools for measuring sustainability on future capital investment projects.
The study included appraisal of Centrepoint Community Hub (Wishaw); the Cutty Sark Community Centre (Bellsmyre); Eskdalemuir Community Hub (Eskdale) and the Atlantic Islands Centre (Luing).
The exercise enabled Rybka to advise BLF on setting BREEAM targets for future developments through a Sustainability Framework Report ensuring potential for sustainability labelling is maximised.
