The Broadford Community Hospital has been constructed on a site of natural beauty with views over Broadford Bay on the Isle of Skye. The building was designed with this sensitive location in mind, and the local climate was closely analysed to ensure the HVAC system design was bespoke to the unique surroundings.
The facility incorporates an In-Patient Ward (Dementia friendly), Out-Patient Clinic, Emergency Resus department, Therapy Area, Imaging Department and a Maternity Suite.
Rybka were appointed to deliver full mechanical and electrical design consultancy and building physics modelling. A full BREEAM assessment was also carried out to ensure holistic sustainability measures were adopted throughout the design.
