Rybka are working with Holmes Miller architects on the proposed Our League Life training facility in Manchester commissioned by Rugby Football League. The facility is being designed with energy conservation as a key performance indicator. The new facility will offer state-of-the-art conference spaces, teaching rooms, and training areas for the RFL. The development will be constructed in a single phase during an estimated 12-month construction period due to start this year.
The building is being designed and constructed to achieve RIBA 2025 Performance Standards in relation to the development's fabric performance. Using dynamic thermal modeling, Rybka has ensured that the best possible passive design measures are being achieved. Once the fabric performance was optimised, carefully selected active systems and low and zero carbon technologies were integrated, including modular Air Source Heat-pumps and demand-controlled mechanical ventilation systems.
