Value: £35M
Client: Hub South East Scotland
Architect: Architype
The City of Edinburgh Council have made the initiative in announcing that their next wave of Secondary School developments will be built to the Passivhaus standard. Rybka are pleased to have been selected as part of the Hub SE Scotland team to deliver the first major Passivhaus project in Scotland.
The Passivhaus standard adopts a whole-building approach, and is a tried and tested solution to deliver buildings with a high level of occupant comfort while using very little energy for heating and cooling.
Rybka is contributing with mechanical and electrical engineering design consultancy as well as our full Building Physics package.
The school, with its low-energy passive design measures, will assist CEC in its aspirations for net-zero by 2030. It will also provide a wide range of sustainability and wellbeing measures.
