The Badenoch & Strathspey Community Hospital provides a modern healthcare environment to help NHS Highland deliver an excellent standard of care to the region. The hospital sits within the Cairngorms National Park, and the building was designed with this sensitive location in mind. The local climate was closely analysed to ensure the HVAC system design was bespoke to the unique surroundings.
The facility incorporates a GP Practice, In-Patient Ward (Dementia friendly), Out-Patient Department, Urgent Care Centre, Dental Suite, Mortuary and Community Health Support Services offices.
Rybka were appointed to deliver full mechanical and electrical design consultancy and building physics modelling. A full BREEAM assessment was also carried out to ensure holistic sustainability measures were adopted throughout the design.
