June 2024

The fourth project nominated for the Scottish Design Awards 2024 is the Scottish Cooperative Discovery & Activity Centre.

This is a significant and important building, both regionally and nationally, as it is a combined bakery, power station and one of Scotland’s first electrified buildings!

It is being renovated carefully to produce 1200sqm of modern, sustainable and flexible community spaces. Rybka are currently developing the design of the M&E services based on a fabric first approach, taking Passivhaus principles and applying them to a heritage project to create a low carbon facility which has a modern innovative services strategy.

Best of luck to Collective Architecture tomorrow!
