April 2024

Last Week, HRH The Princess Royal visited Inverness to open the new Rural and Veterinary Innovation Centre for SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College).

Our client was very forward-thinking with their ambitions for low carbon construction and embraced the team’s proposals for mass timber. This helped to drive down the embodied carbon of the building and coupled with efficient MVHR and ASHP, the operational energy/carbon is low for this type of building. Through the design process, Rybka provided MEP design, building physics and embodied carbon analysis.

This was a fantastic project to be involved in and it was great working alongside such a brilliant team: Threesixty Architecture, Narro, Currie & Brown, Muir Construction and Thomson Gray.
