The new Greenfaulds High School, built within the grounds of the existing school, provides educational accommodation for 1,350 pupils. The three storey new-build contains teaching spaces, an assembly hall, and dining and social areas as well as myriad sporting facilities.
The school benefits from a range of energy efficiency and sustainability measures including on-site biomass to meet the majority of the heating demand and optimisation of daylighting to reduce the need for artificial lighting.
Rybka’s design of the building services also included a dynamic ventilation system with heat recovery that supplies air based on the room occupancy and CO2 levels.
