Rybka are proud to be supporting the Trees for Life Rewilding Centre in Dundreggan, and in particular their drive towards low carbon heating and energy generation. The project has received £240k from the Scottish Government Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme, towards ASHP’s and Solar PV generation with battery storage.
The Rewilding Centre is one of eight projects part-funded by the Scottish Government, that will all together allow to cut carbon emissions by around 4,500 tonnes of CO2e a year!
This project demanded a low carbon design philosophy and energy strategy and Rybka was appointed as Mechanical and Electrical Design Consultants to assist the design team in delivering the project from conception through to the construction phase.
The project includes low carbon ASHP and heat recovery to minimise energy consumption. Rybka has promoted large PV arrays and battery storage to benefit on-site energy generation.
Rybka worked closely with the architect in REVIT to fully coordinate the services and feature lighting design
Situated in the beautiful wilderness between Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye, Dundreggan estate will host the world’s first Rewilding Visitor Centre, alongside facilities such as a café, library and a playground.
