The West Dunbartonshire Council Office reached its goal of re-invigorating local businesses within Dumbarton town centre by providing a new modern council office for 500 staff and the local community.
The building design, which has retained the A-listed façade of the historic Dumbarton Academy, offers 53,000sqft of community and tenant services by transforming the site into a modern and efficient town centre base. The building features high-grade open plan office space, meeting rooms, a large scale atrium and a flexible use Civic Hall.
Rybka has provided the detailed design of the building services and completed the BREEAM assessment for the project ensuring that the building performs at a highly efficient level. The building design maximises the use of daylight, is energy efficient and is predominantly naturally ventilated.
Handover for this project was completed in May 2018 with the building achieving a B+ energy performance rating.
